Is Cyber Stalking Good or Bad?

Saturday, October 19, 2013

Stalking is an unwanted or obsessive attention by an individual or group toward another person [source: Wikipedia]. And when we do it using our electronic gadgets through the internet then this is called Cyber Stalking. But why does people love to stalk specially in social networking sites? What could be its effect to oneself, is it good or bad?

I can't deny the fact that there are really times that I would just stalk to someones profile in Facebook. Whenever I browse in my news feed and then they have updates that seems interesting, unconsciously I was already in their profile for more than an hour. I bet there are a lot of people who can relate to this situation, but we do it out of curiosity and fun. However there are some people who may also have taken it off their limits, by simply digging in to the other persons personal life. By starting to send some creepy emails or following every account that they have. This could then be a serious matter since this is not a simple stalking anymore this could be more than of an obsession. Before anything could get worst we should always do some precautions to avoid people from getting our detailed information, refer here.

On the lighter note, there are also good things that stalking does to our lives. Recently I was able to view some of my friends liked pages. It seems that most of my friends keep on liking or sharing this fan page called Team Kramer and I was a bit curious of what does this page has to offer. This is about their family moments with their pretty kids, and whenever I get to browse their page it would really paint a smile on my face. Their page is one of the few pages that doesn't make me feel any insecurities rather it simply makes me happy every time I get to see their faces on my news feed. It's quite amazing how their simple act such as sharing their family photos makes a difference in ones life.

They have inspired a lot of families that above the material things that parents could offer to their kids is their precious time. Indeed it takes courage and hard work to maintain this kind of atmosphere within a family but with unconditional love for your kids and partner and through God everything becomes less difficult.

At the end of the day it is you who would decide if stalking at others profile makes you feel good or bad. It's you who would decide whether you get jealous or you'd end up being inspired by their deeds. It's you who would choose to get down on your knees and ask why you have less or you would stand and thank the Lord for all the blessings that he has showered you.

I believe that stalking with limitations is purely admiration and it does not do any harm from both parties. Feel good and be contented and you'll forever be happy, feel bad with others happiness will give you a forever loneliness. It's a decision to make.
