It was undeniably a blast when hashtag was first introduced to the public through Twitter. Hashtag was created on August 23, 2007 by Chris Messina for the purpose of grouping some topics or messages, and it's very evident nowadays that it is being widely used in social media.
But as of today it seems that many people doesn't actually know how to use hashtag in their posts. The main purpose of creating this innovative hashtag is to marked keywords or topics, by grouping such topics it would be easier to search for the posts that contains the keyword. It also makes the user’s posts become meaningful and searchable in a social networking sites. However, there are people who overused such tool in posting in their timeline and making it either annoying or irritating to the eyes.
Here are the top four Annoying ways of using #hashtags:
1. Overload Tweets or Posts with Hashtag
There would always be that one person in our friends list that usually posts a paragraph that contains hashtag in every word. Hashtagging in every word in a sentence makes it really annoying to read or look at when it appears in our news feeds and it also kills the purpose of hashtag. It is advisable to have an atleast two or three words that uses hashtag. Thus putting it in every word in sentence in your tweet or post makes you look like a spammer.
2. Nonsense Messages
Hashtagging just for the sake of using it doesn't make any sense at all and neither makes you look cool. It's quite disturbing to read such posts that has a hashtag but doesn't actually connect to their message. Remember to be more responsible with what you post not just to have a feel good posting. The message should at least relate to the word that contains the pound sign.
3. Unreadable Hashtag
Combining a bunch of words and making it into a one word with that pound sign is a mind bugling post. At least make the first letter of the word capital so that the reader won't have a hard time figuring out what it meant.
4. Too Loud
Putting a hashtag in every post is a no no, it should only be use occasionally or for important matter. Does doing so makes it a nuisance and looks a bit odd.
These are just observations, surely a user can do whatever he/she wants to do with their posts or tweets. Just remember that in everything that we do there should always be a limitation and hashtag is not an exemption. Unless you want to annoy the people in your friends list. Think about it.
